Cliff (Guitar)

Cliff first developed an interest in Guitar in 1985. His older brother was in local bands and Cliff would attend almost every show. This obviously inspired him, so he picked up an old guitar his brother no longer used and had stored under the bed, and he began on his long journey of learning guitar. After a few months of almost continuous practice, Cliff and his friends started their first band. "We weren't too good, but we all had a good time playing music. Some of the first gigs I can remember playing were in Mardi Gras parades. We would play music on a flatbed trailer being pulled by a tractor. Needless to say, we always had a blast doing this. This was the start of my love for playing in bands."

Cliff joined the Navy in 1988, and shipped off to Virginia and then England. He was in working bands at both places, and recorded one complete album and a 5-song demo while in England. "I had a great time performing in those English Pubs. It was a great experience!"

In 1998, Cliff came to the Washington DC area. He hadn't planned on joining another band, "but you know how it goes." He started jamming with another local guitarist, but things just didn't seem to work out. Chris was also in that group, and both decided they wanted to go in another direction. "I'm having a great time playing music with these guys."

"My influences are wide, and I don't think I have the room to go in detail. However, I will say that my brother is the one who inspired me to play guitar. I think many of my influences came from 80's and early 90's rock bands. Modern and classic rock tunes continuously inspire me, and I'm developing a love for current and older blues. I prefer playing Rhythm/Acoustic guitar, but I realize solos are necessary in some songs. That about covers it all. Hope to see you at the gigs!!!"
