The year was 1987 when Kyle first caressed a 6 string guitar. "I think it was a very cheaply made fender squire. Once I heard the sound of deep heavy distortion come through the amplifier, I was hooked". Kyle then enrolled in guitar classes in high school and studied guitar until he graduated. In the process, a friend introduced him to a Les Paul bass and from that point on, all he wanted to pluck was the big, thick, nickel wound strings of a bass. "I knew that I wanted to play bass because I thought that it was a very unique instrument". After playing through countless amplifiers, Kyle purchased a CRATE B200 XL head and 2 x 10 x 1 x 18 cabinet. This amp was extremely loud but it had a great midrange and tone. "I am so sorry that I ever departed with that amp".
Kyle's band experience started when very good friend, Danny Rivera, called him one day and asked if I wanted to play for his band "Excelorator". A three piece band made up Excelorator playing all kinds of heavy metal from Priest to Metallica to AC/DC and everything in between. The drummer was Ed Golden. He had previous experience in numerous bands so he brought a vast knowledge to the band. Learning songs and writing material landed them in a makeshift studio in Waldorf. "We were able to lay down 2 or 3 songs in one day. We didn't get out of Danny's basement and play any gigs but we did manage to throw some kick ass parties down there where Ed had a few arcade games set up. The games actually accepted money so as people would play them, we would be earning studio money while playing in front of a crowd". When the days of Excelorator ended, Kyle started to drift away from playing. It was toward the end of 2000 after Chris, NO LIMITS vocalist, and Kyle got back from Nashville when Kyle wanted to start playing again. "In August of 2001, I went to a practice for a band that Chris and Cliff were in. This band didn't even have a bass player and none of the other guys were serious about developing a band. Chris introduced me to Cliff and then I knew that we could get a good thing going. NO LIMITS was the next thing for the three of them.
"Since being with NO LIMITS since 2001, I sometimes regret ever putting the bass down. I'm so glad that I'm a part of this".
